Koloshed by the Koloshi

I had lunch here when Martin Blunos owned/cooked here. That lunch was terrible. Drove out of Cheltenham to the pub that used to be called “The Reservoir”. I had read the reviews on TA and thought I would try Koloshi. The food is fantastic. Business lunch for £9.95 is very good value. This includes starter of chicken (cooked in the tandoor) really tender and succulent. Main course was chicken and lamb cooked again in the tandoor with a spicy tomatoe sauce and spinach sauce served seperately on both meats, a third vegetarian portion of split peas and spinach and all accompanied by rice and crispy onions and wonderful naan bread. I being a greedy guts, had poppadums with a selection of chutneys, raita, beetroot chutney (outstanding) and finely chopped onion, corriander, tomato raw vegetables. For my main course I had the Hydrabadi massala with steamed rice. Delicious, together with a keema naan. All fresh and very well executed. Service was very good. Nice wine selection. White linen tablecloths and exspensive cutlery. This is a very good Bangladeshi/Indian restaurant. The chef came fourth in the finals of the curry awards…..You can tell why. It’s very good and you will not be disappointed. So when you feel the urge for a really good top notch cuzza try here. Best Indian meal I have eaten in years.

A beautiful night in a beautiful restaurant…..

a night to remember

It was a wonderful experience and a very fine dinner we had in a nice family environment. The Food was excellent and the service was top class. Mr. Dewan (The owner of the place) welcomed us with a beautiful smile and we had a chance to chat with him about the place and his plans for the near future. We were then seated for a sumptuous dinner which included various indian dishes and delicacies. The food was delicious and light to digest. Even our little one enjoyed it very much (especially the dessert: fried ice cream). The service and bar-tender were excellent. At the end, we had the chance to speak to the chef and had the opportunity to congratulate him for the nice food we enjoyed in the place. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the place for anyone looking to spend reasonably but enjoy a good night-out.

Great!

We have been to this restaurant twice now, and twice we absolutely loved it!! Everytime we had a free, delicious cocktail on arrival, the food was fantastic, the restaurant was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful! It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it!

We will be back!

Best Imaginative Indian Food in Town

We are regular visitors to Koloshi – every dish has a different flavour and is imaginatively presented. The staff are most courteous and attentive. We shall keep supporting them and hope they get the flowing they deserve.

Luxury, refined dining!!!

If you want to spoil yourself and go somewhere different to experience cuisine with a difference then this is the place! Fantastic food and very relaxed!!

Amazing!

Found this restaurant by accident after we took a wrong turn on our way back to our hotel from Cheltenham. Best mistake ever. This was probably the best meal I’ve ever had.
We sat outside as we had our baby daughter with us- as she was being a little fussy, we didn’t want to disturb the other diners. The waiter was fantastically attentive despite having customers inside, and stopped to chat with us and coo over our daughter. Very impressed with the service. The food itself was incredible. We were expecting the usual curries so I’d already decided on my usual lamb bhuna. However, the food on offer was mainly joints of meat infused with beautifully cooked sauces. I had the Rajshahi Lamb, a slow-cooked lamb shank with turmeric, yoghurt, browned garlic and freshly ground spices and my husband had Battak Achari, which is a Tandoor grilled duck breast, marinated with ginger, chili, yoghurt, and cloves served on bed of seasonal vegetables with Tamarind sauce. These were both absolutely delicious- the lamb fell off the bone and was beautifully tender. We also each had a naan bread and my husband had a Tandoor grilled pineapple and ice cream for dessert. Everything was fantastic- perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. It was also very reasonably priced. I’m glad it’s located so far away otherwise I’d be there every other weekend!!!
