Koloshed by the Koloshi

I had lunch here when Martin Blunos owned/cooked here. That lunch was terrible. Drove out of Cheltenham to the pub that used to be called “The Reservoir”. I had read the reviews on TA and thought I would try Koloshi. The food is fantastic. Business lunch for £9.95 is very good value. This includes starter of chicken (cooked in the tandoor) really tender and succulent. Main course was chicken and lamb cooked again in the tandoor with a spicy tomatoe sauce and spinach sauce served seperately on both meats, a third vegetarian portion of split peas and spinach and all accompanied by rice and crispy onions and wonderful naan bread. I being a greedy guts, had poppadums with a selection of chutneys, raita, beetroot chutney (outstanding) and finely chopped onion, corriander, tomato raw vegetables. For my main course I had the Hydrabadi massala with steamed rice. Delicious, together with a keema naan. All fresh and very well executed. Service was very good. Nice wine selection. White linen tablecloths and exspensive cutlery. This is a very good Bangladeshi/Indian restaurant. The chef came fourth in the finals of the curry awards…..You can tell why. It’s very good and you will not be disappointed. So when you feel the urge for a really good top notch cuzza try here. Best Indian meal I have eaten in years.

a night to remember

It was a wonderful experience and a very fine dinner we had in a nice family environment. The Food was excellent and the service was top class. Mr. Dewan (The owner of the place) welcomed us with a beautiful smile and we had a chance to chat with him about the place and his plans for the near future. We were then seated for a sumptuous dinner which included various indian dishes and delicacies. The food was delicious and light to digest. Even our little one enjoyed it very much (especially the dessert: fried ice cream). The service and bar-tender were excellent. At the end, we had the chance to speak to the chef and had the opportunity to congratulate him for the nice food we enjoyed in the place. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the place for anyone looking to spend reasonably but enjoy a good night-out.

We have been to this restaurant twice now, and twice we absolutely loved it!! Everytime we had a free, delicious cocktail on arrival, the food was fantastic, the restaurant was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful! It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it!

We will be back!
